Little disclaimer: this post is not about trafic forum but how to get blog traffic using forums. If you already have a blog and are generating traffic you may also use this to learn how to get more blog traffic if not using forums yet.
So let’s get started;
First of all lets see why use forums.
After much reading I believe there are two major reasons why its great to have.
- Its another source of traffic that is not affected by “Dr. Google’s shanigans”.
- Forums are community based so there are no technicalities involved so anybody can apply this strategy.
- Since forums are community based they are highly targeted.
What are Forums?
In case you did not know what forums are I would explain in a quick statement. Forums are online communities that are built for discussions. People with common interest would raise discussions and helpful topics in their area of interest.
3 Step Setup To Use Forums To Get More Traffic
Since forums are pretty much social sites on the own the same rule applies – NO SPAMMING – LOL. The focus is to be a part of the community and contribute to it. Of course this is one of the best ways to drive traffic to your site. Visitors from forums will convert better because you have build that trust.
So how do you start using forums very effectively?
Step 1: Account Setup
The account setup is very important. This is how you will mainly drive traffic to your blog and offers. When I joined a forum I missed this part so even though I contributed to the forum I did not get traffic. I simply resolved to the fact that forums don’t work. How ignorant of me!! 🙂
So in setting up your account you need to fill out all the necessary sections. Especially name, location, social media profiles and you URL to your blog or site.
Step 2: Introduce Yourself
The first thing to do when you join a forum is to introduce yourself. Here’s your chance to impress. First impressions matter a lot to people. You not only want to get attention but you need to get the right kind of attention. So make it good.
Step 3: Provide Value
The third step is to be valuable and remain valuable to other members of the group. This is how you get noticed in the forum and start getting traffic to your blog and other sites. The first way to be valuable is by engaging in discussions and contributing to discussions and questions positively. Your answers must be very knowledgeable and concise so people can seek you out.
The next way to be valuable is to raise useful discussions. Topics and subjects you know people need answers for.
Word of Caution: Just like every other community you would come across “idiotic people” whose main aim is to discourage you. Forget the negativity and focus on why you are there in the first place.
